Last week we received a nice early Christmas gift from SALSA in the form of our 2018/19 food safety certificate! This is the third year running that Red Rock has been accredited.

SALSA stands for Safe and Local Supplier Approval and is only granted to food suppliers in the UK who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they can meet the requirements of the SALSA standard. This year’s audit was no different – the auditor was onsite for most of the day ensuring we have protocols and systems in place to meet standards and that we have collated data to prove we are doing it.

Brewery Director Lewis says “it was a business decision of ours to apply for a SALSA accreditation back in 2015. Since then we have come a long way – not really in terms of standards of production – but more in how we record what we are doing and the policies we put in place to prove how we are doing it. This certificate gives assurance to customers of our commitment to produce our beer in a consistently safe and legal manner but it’s also an essential when working with large companies like the supermarkets and National Trust. Without our SALSA certificate, they won’t stock our beer and ultimately that means our beer wouldn’t be out there and available for you to enjoy!”

As well as our SALSA accreditation, we also have the quality Cask Marque.
