When it comes to innovative, quality beers we like to go against the grain, quite literally! Our award winning Slow beer range is the latest and the most unique string in our beer bow. Using the finest botanic ingredients that are locally sourced as much as possible, the slow beers as the name suggests are produced slow so you can experience more of the flavour!

There are 4 in the range – an Original Wheat, a strong and punchy Elderflower IPA, a new and improved blackberry and the Honey Beer. Two from the list have been SIBA silver regional award winners in 2016 and 2017. The Honey was awarded gold this year, in the speciality light beers category, fighting off strong competition from 200 other entries across the South West region.

The Honey Slow beer is a sweet, pale beer made with local Devon honey from the Haldon Honey Company. Owner Neil Graham has around 200 beehives dotted around Devon’s well known Haldon Hill range and produces a lovely natural honey from clover, bramble, sweet chestnut and bells heather. Brewery owner Lewis Parkes has perfected his recipe, successfully pasteurising the honey at the exact temperature to get the best flavour. And each batch is never quite the same – we use real honey so the taste varies depending on what the bees have been pollinating. We can assure you though, this latest brew is our best yet!

Most exciting of all is that new for this summer, this delicious honey beer is available as a cask conditioned ale as well as in bottle and keg. There are only a limited few casks available so let’s hope you are one of the lucky ones who get to taste it! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for news of where to find it… And then be sure to let us know what you think!
